Sean O'Skea has designed in New York and the Northwest for the past fifteen years. He’s recently returned to
Oregon after teaching design at Alfred University in upstate New York. Sean now serves as Associate  
Professor of Scenic Design at Southern Oregon University, in Ashland. Prior to his time at Alfred, Sean served
as the resident designer and Technical Director at Concordia University in Portland. He received his MFA in
Design from the University of Portland in 2002. He also has a Masters in Historic Preservation for Ball State
University and began his MFA work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Although primarily a scenic
designer, Sean has also designed light, sound, and costumes. Serving as technical director at both
Concordia and Alfred, Sean has personally built much of what he has designed and has considerable
carpentry and scene painting experience. He now lives in Ashland, Oregon with his wife, Doreen, and his
daughter, Amelia.
